Tour of Solana Beach Community Ride is Saturday, May 14
May is Bike Month, and BikeWalkSolana invites you to be part of the celebration! Join us for the second Tour of Solana Beach Community Ride on Saturday, May 14. Our group will pedal through the lovely neighborhoods of Solana Beach at a leisurely pace, led by qualified ride monitors. We’ll leave from La Colonia Park at 10 am on this 15 mile ride. In pre-pandemic 2019, well over 100 people of all ages joined this family friendly event. We expect more this year, so come early (by 9:45) to register. You might win a raffle prize!
Win an E-bike! Complete the Self-guided Tour of Solana Beach Scavenger Hunt Any Time in May
Our second self guided Tour of Solana Beach Scavenger Hunt can be completed any time during Bike Month (May 1 – 31). Over 400 people enjoyed this pandemic friendly adventure in May, 2021, exploring, biking, walking, and car free. Now in 2022, in addition to different questions we’ve added something new: learning about Solana Beach history! We’re delighted to partner with the Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society, whose historical plaques with QR codes on historic buildings will help scavenger hunters find answers to questions about Solana Beach’s past. Take your cell phone! Submit your completed score sheet for a chance to win raffle prizes from Solana Beach bike shops. The grand prize is an e-bike from San Diego Electric Bike.

Sign Up to Improve Your Bicycling Knowledge, Skills and Safety
If you’d like to feel more comfortable on the road and ready to ride in the city, sign up for a San Diego Bicycle Coalition City Cycling class in nearby Encinitas on April 23 and on May 7. These classes cover general bike safety, emergency maneuver skills, legal rights, and responsibilities. They are perfect for beginners, and equally valuable for experienced cyclists who want to brush up on road rules. Click on the links below for more information and to register.
