- Heat pump water heater rebate program launched in January
- Senior transit pilot project RFP received 5 proposals
- Completed tree inventory and planted new monarch garden at City Hall
- First clothing swap event diverted 300+ pounds of clothing
Fiesta del Sol bike valet coordination (BikeSD and Bike Coalition quotes received)
Community Discussions:
- Need for more bike parking at shopping centers and beach access points
- Importance of bike/pedestrian counters for data collection
- La Colonia scavenger hunt planning
- Regional Updates (Howard):
- Oceanside received $1.1M for active transportation plan
- Encinitas dismantled Santa Fe Class 4 project after community controversy. Emphasizes the need for better community input to avoid wasting money and resouces. In this case, the initial cost to design and build, the cost to rip out, the cost for a new design and implementation – 3x waste.
- Encinitas micromobility manager position, previously held by Nick Buck, may not be refilled
