- Encinitas Holiday Parade
For those interested in spreading the holiday cheer while showing support for our local biking community, the Encinitas Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee (in coordination with the Encinitas Environmental Commission and EDCO) has a spot in this year’s Encinitas Holiday Parade. All BikeWalkSolana and greater community members are invited. The parade will be held on December 1 and begins at 5:30 pm at the corner of South Coast Highway 101 and D Street. We will likely have one of the earlier slots, so for those able to attend the plan is to meet at 5 pm in the Dudek parking lot to get everyone together (605 Third Street – corner of Third and E Street). If you arrive later, just look for the mini EDCO trash truck in the parade queue and you’ll find us.
The theme this year is “Stoked for the Holidays,” show up with as many bike lights/blinkers/bells/Christmas lights on our bikes as possible and dress like its an Ugly Sweater party. Other ideas are welcome – just make sure you have lots of lights! EVERYONE IS WELCOME, all ages, all skill levels – if you have a bike, we want you with us! - Solana Beach Walk with WalkSanDiego
Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 9AM starting from Highway 101 and Via De la Valle.
Come join WalkSanDiego and BikeWalkSolana for this walk through Solana Beach, discover the history of the areas the walk takes you through the Cedros Design District, Highway 101 Corridor, and Fletcher Cove. Make a $5 donation to support WalkSanDiego.
