- Saturday, 8 Jan 2022 – Free Bikes 4 Kidz collection event at all Trek Stores in San Diego. Drop off your gently used bicycles between 10AM and 3PM.

Those present included Jill Cooper, Paul Dickstein, Dan Goldberg, and Karl Rudnick.
Lomas Santa Fe Corridor Improvement Project
City Engineer Dan Golberg reported that the final shovel-ready plans for the project were submitted to SANDAG. The next step is to secure funding in order to begin building, and the City Staff will apply for grants. One outcome might be to split the overall project into separate construction projects.
City Pavement and Striping Project
This project involves pavement repair and new paint striping throughout the city, based on findings from the City’s pavement condition assessment program completed every 5 years. The project is out for bid in the amount of $700,000 – 800,000.
Bicycle Friendly Community Signs
The signs from the League of American Cyclists are here, and will be installed soon by the City Engineering Staff at designated locations on roads into and through the city. Thanks, Dan! The City paid $500 for 10 signs.
Safe Routes to School Project

Planned Santa Helena Drive Bike/Ped Trail
City Engineering Staff members are working on the design in house, and M.W. Peltz and Associates will provide help with landscape and irrigation. The design needs funding.
Solana Beach Community Grant Calendar
Douglas Alden is working on scheduling our BikeWalkSolana events which include a Tour of Solana Beach Community Ride, Tour of Solana Beach Scavenger Hunt, and Bicycle Education events including Smart Cycling and e-Bike training.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, February 7, at 5:00 pm PST.
